RELAXING MORNING
Breakfast was a bit crowded as everyone is rushing to eat and be first off the ship. We did not book a shore excursion here. After we ate we took our coffee out on the deck, and let everyone else clamor to get off and catch their tours.

Once the crowds died down, we got off the ship and explored the shopping area right by our pier - which we had never been to before. Although we have been to Cozumel many times, there are several piers at Cozumel and several years back a hurricane did a lot of damage and piers needed to be rebuilt. This mall was very new with MANY shops. It was actually pretty cute! There was a fountain, lots of chairs - even some beach chairs in sand overlooking our ship. It was a very inviting setting! We strolled around for awhile, but didn't end up buying anything.

BACK ON THE SHIP
We headed back to the ship to enjoy the pool facilities with everyone else gone! I even went down the "Twister Slide"! It was really fun! I was not expecting the "sudden stop" at the bottom when you hit the standing water and you are forced under. I recommend holding your nose if you are not a water-slide aficionado!! We enjoy the days on the ship where everyone else is off! Takes the pressure off the Sea Days when the crowds can be troubling. Of course I love shore excursions too, but we have been here several times, and we are also watching the spending, so for us, this works. Tomorrow in Belize we have a "real excursion" planned! The rest of the afternoon consisted of: hot tubbing, lounging on the Serenity deck, and naps back in the room!

DINNER
Only one other couple came to dinner tonight. They were very fun to talk to, but it was a little weird that the whole time we are thinking the others might arrive so we didn't rearrange and we were all sitting shoulder to shoulder down one side of the table! I have to mention how impressed we were that our Diet Cokes were waiting for us when we got there! No complaints about the service!!!! This is something we REALLY notice. On our one and only cruise on Norwegian, getting our sodas at dinner was like an olympic sport! First, find someone who cares (by jumping up and down and waving your napkins), second wait for them to return with the sodas, and third... no there is no third.... refills were out of the question, as no on came around and no one cared. THAT was Norwegian, just to be clear! When I learned on the first night that the sodas would be brought by the bar staff, i was thinking, Here we go again. But to my delight, that bar waiter (Bagus - I wrote it down so I can commend him to Carnival) had our sodas waiting for us every night AND brought refills before we even needed them! It's the little things that become big sometimes! For dessert I switched it up and had Cheesecake. Excellent of course!

ENTERTAINMENT
The show tonight was a singer who is supposed to be a Stevie Wonder look alike. We didn't think he looked like him or sounded like him. He was ok though. (Note- the next night at dinner our table mates went on and on about how he was exactly like Stevie Wonder and they had seen him in person, so they knew... So ok, glad they liked it. We were not so convinced, but equal time here to a converse opinion!) After the show in the atrium, the break dance group called "Fun Force" (everything is Fun this and Fun that on Carnival, the Fun Ships) was entertaining in the Atrium. The crowd was several people deep at the rails. They were amazing and so entertaining!

We walked up to the pool deck and saw that they were showing "Rudy" on the big screen. The air was so still, cool and tropical! I don't know if it's the weather on this cruise, the ship design, or both, but it was so nice that it was not so windy while sailing! This is a really, really neat feature of this ship. They show these movies on the jumbo-tron, pop popcorn at the poolside bar, and there are plenty of chaise lounges to sit out and enjoy the show. It is not overly crowded, as there is a lot of partying going on elsewhere on the ship, so this is by no means the only thing going on. We got some popcorn and our sodas and watched the movie for awhile. I have to pinch myself: I'm here watching a movie under the starts, eating popcorn, in the Caribbean Sea! Delightful!
