MAKING THE MOST OF THE LAST DAY!
It's our last day! Nothing much on the agenda today. After eating breakfast at the buffet as usual, we decided to take in some miniature golf, since we hadn't had a chance to do that yet. You know the last day you have to check off all the things you haven't gotten to yet! It was a fun little 18 hole course. We kept score of course and it was a tie! Really, it was. I had a "hole in one"!

Later in the morning we took in a round of "Oldies Entertainment Trivia". I knew the names of the actors that played Darren Stevens on Bewitched (Dick York and Dick Sargeant) and Tom knew the name of Roy Rogers' dog (Bullet). We thought we did pretty well but of course many teams did better! After sitting outside on "The Lanai" (completely shaded area on the Promenade Deck) and reading our books we came back inside to listen to the cruise director answer questions about life behind the scenes on a cruise ship. Then we listened to the presentation about the Carnival fleet and all about booking a future Carnival cruise. This has been such a great week, I can honestly say there is NO reason to avoid Carnival! The main advantage to RCCL at this point is my Diamond status that is good for cutting a few lines on embarkation day and some freebies, but other than that, there are pros and cons to both and as long as it's a newer Carnival ship with the newest features, it should be good!

AFTERNOON
For lunch I really wanted to try the Pasta Bar, since I hadn't done so yet. You write down your order on this checklist they hand you when you walk in. Pick your pasta, your sauce, the meat, the veggies, and then turn the slip in and sit down with a number. Then it is delivered fresh to your table right out of the pan! You can also order garlic bread and caesar salad. It was very good! Fresh, cooked to order stuff is always good!

After lunch we were going to maybe sit in one of the hot tubs, so we got into our suits, but after scouting around they were all so full we gave up! Why did I break my cardinal rule?! I am always so smart to not try to compete with everyone wanting to be in the pool and hot tubs and sea days and why I thought I could break that rule, I do not know! Not worth it! So we found a shady place to read our books again, and we strolled through the photo gallery looking at all the pictures we posed for during the week. It was decision time, and we finally picked one out to update the frame we have in the dining room. We wandered through the casino because we still had some chips from the other day but the roulette wheel was full of people - we like it best when we are alone or almost alone. Less intimidating! We ended up just cashing out our chips and cutting our losses!

EVENING
Dinner tonight was Prime Rib again and it was outstanding! Even Tom liked it (loved it actually) and he rarely orders beef because it is usually so tough - because he likes it so well done! But this prime rib was not pink and not tough. He was very happy with it. I again had the warm chocolate melting cake…. ugh! So good but oh my goodness!

Time to pack! Our flight does not leave until late tomorrow afternoon so we were to be among the last to be called off the ship. We have done the "carry your own bags off" with RCCL where you are first off and you don't put your bags out the night before, but we would be silly to rush because our ride to the airport wouldn't be there yet and even if it were, then we just have that much longer to sit at MCO! So we are debarking the traditional method, putting our bags out in the hall tonight. They call it the "Relaxation Debarkation". You just relax in one of several areas waiting to be called. Sounds good!

So we got our bags packed and then we decided to go get that last dip in the hot tub! We thought maybe we'd be the only ones but there was one other couple in there already. It was really dark and windy! We have a heckuva headwind today and I think we are traveling faster than we have on other days, so this is the windiest we've had it. I would say today is like "normal windiness" and the other days were amazingly still compared to what I've seen in the past.

The last night is so sad!!
