DAY 6: Cozumel
Friday, Jan 18
Two words for today: Cold Front. Bummer. Well at least we didn't book any shore excursions because if we had, they would have been to the beach or snorkeling, or both. Today was overcast, cool and windy. I think it was only in the low 70's. The weather was pretty much a bust but at least it wasn't raining. The solarium wasn't too bad, so we took our books there to read, and spent a little time in the hot tub.

After lunch we got off the ship and walked around the shopping area right in the terminal at the pier and I actually found a cute shirt for only $8 so I bought that. When we got back on the ship we headed to the main show theater where they were showing The Avengers in 3D! In 3D! That was kind of a kick!

Dinner tonight was Chicken Cordon Bleu - excellent of course. Our show tonight was the Stand Up Comedy Act featuring two different comedians. It is very difficult to get reservations for because the venue is so small, it has that "Comedy Club" feel, and I'm sure the comedians like that kind of a set up better than in the huge theater. Both guys were VERY funny, but the second one in particular was hilarious. His resume includes three times on the Tonight Show, and when he came out on stage Tom whispers to me that he chatted in the elevator with him today!

Tomorrow: the last day… a Sea Day.

Some pics from today:

Today we were parked alongside of Mariner of the Seas, sister ship to Explorer & Adventure that we have been on several times. Mariner is a huge ship but alongside of Allure it doesn't look like it.

A good samaritan offered to take our picture. Notice at the back of the ship the railing - that's at deck 5, but it is only open at the aft of the ship. Along the sides the lifeboats are blocking it. That is a good lookout that a lot of people don't know about. See below for a view of the pier from the railing.
